Ecuador

Ecuador is a very beautiful country that has some major islands as well as a capital city that rests almost right on the Equator. The islands are none other than The Galapagos Islands which are rich in life. The capital Quito, is located a few minutes drive from the equator. There are many businesses that line the roads out towards the monument at the equator.

I visited Quito and had a wonderful time while I was there. The people whom I met were all very kind and friendly. Even though I am not fluent in Spanish I managed to get by without too much difficulty. I never felt that I was in an unsafe area or that I was at risk. I enjoyed myself while there.

Ecuador is readily accessible from the United States and no significant traveler preparations are required if you plan to stay in a major city. If however, you wish to venture out into the jungle lands or up into the mountains you should be very conservative in dress and how you act or you may find yourself a guest of a band of thugs who want some of your American Wealth. Even so, this country is one to visit.
