FIJI

Fiji is one of the most relaxing and beautiful places to visit anywhere in the world. There are many islands that you can visit where there are no cars and most of the modern things that can make life hectic in the modern world.

The scuba diving in Fiji is grand and the best I have ever experienced. The fish are full of color and entice the visitor to come have a closer look. The coral is also incredible here. There is so much of it, that some boats are unfortunate in their travels and become part of the reef itself.

The locals in Fiji are so friendly. They invite you to sit and enjoy Kava with them. Of course you should take the kava to the chief as a gift for being allowed into their village. Each village still has a chief who is the head of that village. We visited one village and were met with open arms. We were treated well.

You have so many different opportunities to relax and enjoy the serenity in Fiji. Aside from diving, there are many other water sports that can be enjoyed. I took an ocean canoe for a quick trip about a mile offshore to see a shipwreck that is hung up in the coral.

Traveling to Fiji is both easy and exciting. You should go when you can get a chance.

There are numerous specials as the friendly folks in Fiji try to get the tourists to come back after the recent Coup-de-tat. There are several good specials for divers and the two major carriers offering flights are entering into a competitive air fare sale to get that route filled once again.
