OUR TRIP

For Thanksgiving, and really to celebrate my wife's upcoming birthday, I took her to the Iberian peninsula and Morocco. This trip was her main birthday gift from me. This was a trip we both really enjoyed.

We went on a limb and bought our tickets at SkyAuction.com which was a challenge in itself. In the end, I finally got what I wanted but for some reason, including possible lost e-mail this process took a while. In the end we did save money on the trip by taking these measures.

Portugal is a very nice country to visit. The people there are very friendly and willing to show visitors a good time. We shopped in several small shops where the owners were right there offering assistance with a smile.

The land is beautiful. Being on the coast you get a nice breeze from the ocean. Given this is as close as one can get to the USA, I am sure they smell the smog from the USA every once in a while.

I recommend spending time in Lisbon while there. There is at least a day or two of sightseeing in Lisbon. Then move on up or down the coast and have a look at the other coastal towns. You will be happy you did.
