South Padre Island

South Padre Island

On South Padre Island, there is much to do. There are beaches as well as plenty of other water sports to keep you busy. In fact, there are so many water sports that you can spend from the time you wake to bed time playing on the water.

I know of a really nice beach house, linked below, that makes for a wonderful place to stay while there. The beach house is on the bay side and provides great sun sets. It is well equipped and even has room to store two boats at the dock while there.

There are plenty of good places to eat. The seafood is fresh. Mexico is near by so a quick trip over the border to shop and do whatever you want is not too difficult. You can drive yourself, or you can take a shuttle which costs a few dollars.

South Padre Island is definitely worth the trip from wherever you live. It is a short six hour drive from Houston or an even shorter flight to the nearby airports in Harlingen or Brownsville.
